In a recent turn of events, serious allegations of corruption and threats have emerged in connection with Case No. 148/2023 at Pithoria Police Station in Ranchi District, Jharkhand. The accused, Ashutosh Kacchap, Sarula Pahan, Dinesh Pahan, Suresh Pahan, Ekbal Ansari, residents of Oyna Village, Ranchi, find themselves entangled in a web of accusations and intimidation.
The situation took a sinister turn when an unidentified individual, whose photograph is included below, allegedly resorted to abusive and threatening behavior towards Ekbal Ansari and Ashutosh Kacchap. The victims claim that they are being targeted due to false accusations filed against them by Matiur Rahman, a land broker, and other his other partners named Kaleem Ansari, Shoeb Ahmad and others.
Ashutosh Kacchap, armed with evidence that he asserts proves his innocence, alleges that the Investigation Officer, SI Ganesh Yadav, and Station Incharge Abhay Singh, are turning a blind eye to his submissions. Moreover, he claims that the officers are demanding money (Bribe of Rs. 50,000 for each person) in exchange for a favorable outcome in the case, raising suspicions of bribery.
Despite repeated attempts to file complaints, Ashutosh Kacchap and his brothers have yet to see any action taken. The threats reportedly include calls from the unidentified individual claiming to be a DIG, threatening to be killed if the victims do not relinquish their land, which is Ashutosh’s Khatiyani Land with Khata No. 150 in Oyna Village.
The land dispute is rooted in allegations that Matiur Rahman, Shoeb Ahmad, Kaleem Ansari, and others unlawfully sold the land, which is claimed to be the ancestral property of Ashutosh Kacchap and his brothers – Sarula Pahan, Dinesh Pahan, and Suresh Pahan. The accused parties filed a civil case (Case No. 500/2022) to challenge the alleged illegal sale.
The complainants, Matiur Rahman and his partners, responded by filing a false extortion case against Ashutosh Kacchap, his brothers, Ekbal ansari, and Akramul Haque, the brother of Ashutosh’s lawyer, in an attempt to suppress legal proceedings.
Akramul Haque, despite having no connection to the disputed land, finds himself unlawfully included in the case by Matiur Rahman. This move appears to be an attempt to suppress Akramul and coerce him into abandoning his brothers’ case. False statements from Matiur Rahman and other witnesses falsely label Akramul Haque as the mastermind of the case, despite his only connection being the brother of Ashutosh’s lawyer. The matter has escalated to the court, with IO Ganesh Yadav submitting the case diary, and anticipatory bail have been applied by the accused persons.
Despite the court’s no-coercive order, SI Ganesh Yadav, Abhay Singh, and the unidentified individual continue to harass and threaten them. The accused parties are now urging higher authorities to initiate an investigation into the alleged corruption, misconduct, and threats perpetrated by the involved police officers.
This case raises serious concerns about the misuse of power and corruption within the law enforcement system. The victims appeal for a fair and impartial investigation to bring the truth to light and ensure justice prevails.
“On October 10, 2023, around 10 AM, Matiur Rahman, Shoeb Ahmad, Kaleem Ansari, Alam Ansari, and around 8-10 others reportedly attempted to kidnap and harm Ekbal Ansari at Akramul Haque’s house. They physically attacked him, verbally abused him, and even tried to choke him. Fortunately, ASI Zulfikar Ahmad from Mesra O.P. Station arrived, leading to Ekbal’s escape. Despite Ekbal filing an online FIR and providing CCTV evidence, there has been no action from Mesra O.P. Police even after three months. Ekbal’s written complaint to S.P Ranchi has also not resulted in any action so far.”
Ashutosh Kacchap and others accused in the case say they have proof that they are innocent and that the land in question belongs to Ashutosh’s family for a long time. They deny asking for any (extortion) money from Matiur Rahman and claim that he made false accusations. Despite having evidence to support their claims, no action has been taken on their behalf. The accused insist that the accusations against them are unfounded and request a careful examination of the evidence to reveal the truth about the land dispute.
The situation has become very complicated, requiring a careful investigation. All the evidence seems to point towards the corruption of the police officers Ganesh Yadav, Abhay Singh, and an unidentified person, as well as Matiur Rahman and his partners. The need for a thorough examination of the facts is evident as the case unfolds, revealing complexities that demand a close and impartial scrutiny.
